It’s Never Too Late to Join a Society or Sports Club:

Semester two is an excellent time to explore extracurricular activities at the University of St Andrews. Join a society (there are over 150 different ones!), which is run by the Students’ Association. The range of societies covers nearly every possible interest, from food and drink, arts, media and music, charitable, ‘fan and geek’, political, as well as academic and educational. A full list of current student societies can be found on the Students’ Association website. Or join a sports club, with over 50 sports on offer and multiple competitive and recreational teams, Saints Sport caters for all levels of ability and aspiration.

Take Initiative in Making Friends:

Actively participate in social events, both within your courses and in your halls/further student community in St Andrews. Initiate conversations, join study groups, and attend university and school run gatherings. Many lasting friendships start in the second semester.

Balance Social Life and Academics at St Andrews:

Finding a balance between social activities and academics is key at St Andrews. Allocate time for both to ensure academic success while enjoying the rich cultural and social atmosphere of the university and the town!

Reflect on Personal Growth at St Andrews:
